French laces are often of a higher quality, so dresses made of French Chantilly or Alencon laces can be finer and more superior. France is also very well-known for its incredible fashion and fashion designers, so French dresses are always impeccably designed. It is probably best to look at both French dresses and English lace wedding dresses, as somewhere in there you will find the one you love. Just be aware that French dresses will often cost a lot more money and are unlikely to be affordable to those planning their wedding on a tight budget.
If you want all of the benefits of French design without the price tags, then try looking at some French-style wedding dresses. These dresses are inspired by French design, but the prices are kept down as the lace may not be the best that France can offer, and the dressmakers themselves may be less well-known or may not have been around for the same length of time. This is definitely the best option for many people though, because if you decide that’s the style you like, no-one is really going to look at it and know that it isn’t really French!
