They’ve had a hold over me ever since I came back from my beach vacation.
Plus: I’m really busy in my not-online life as not-Hepzeeba.
It did occur to me to write about a few funny things, like the rebirth and relaunching of James Frey, who was the subject of my very first post.
But I’m not inspired. And you, dear readers, are entitled to read posts that are not drivel and that are worth your time.
So hang tight, and hope for the best: that I’ll be back in good form … when I’m over the hump.

I need an antidote to “civilization,” so I’m going to the beach.

Take a well deserved vacation from my blog, dear readers, and I’ll be back before you know it.

I’ve been busy. And, besides, I have nothing brilliant to add to the incomprehensibly huge volume of words being written about the politics of the day.
Maybe I’ll get inspired soon.
Hang tight. I’m never gone from the blog for too long.

And the cyber-gremlins ate a good chunk of my last post, titled “There Goes the Youth Vote.”
I’ll repost it later from another computer.

I posted a link-rich item this morning, and it disappeared into the ether.
This time, I’m testing before I go to the trouble again.
Nothing follows.

I’ve got serious webhost issues, and this site will be down for repair until … the issues are fixed or I’m over my meltdown—whichever comes first.
Here’s my backup site: hepzeeba.wordpress.com
I’ll post there if I have anything to say.
Right now I’m furious at my f*%!^ing webhost.

I just realized that I can program WordPress to publish posts in the future, like while I’m away on vacation for the next weeks. Instead of timeliness, look for—well, not exactly timelessness (I’m not that good, or ambitious) but, well, let’s call it not-time-sensitiveness.

Your faithful blogger is leaving on vacation. She’ll be unplugged and pretty much incommunicado. She tends to fly solo, so there will be no blogging buddies filling in for her.
Suck it up, folks—she’ll be back. Meanwhile, there’s always the hope that when she resumes full-time blogging in a few weeks’ time, she’ll be less grouchy and gloomy and more infotaining.
Never say never!

So you all know that the blog has been down, on and off, for about a month. First I had massive technical problems, moved hosts, and experienced other annoying glitches. Then life intervened to derail me from blogging (and just about everything else) for a while.
I’m back up and running, with a nice theme (courtesy of Chris Pearson at Copyblogger) that plays well with WordPress 2.2.1 … except for the archives, which are still giving me trouble.
And then there’s the matter of two weeks’ worth of lost posts, which I managed to retrieve via my handy feedreader and which I’m slowly uploading again, in order to creat a complete archive.
So those of you reading my feed are going to start seeing all kinds of posts from June. Ignore. Or, better yet: reread! It’s amazing how old news from just a month ago can seem—quite an education.
June 24th, 2007 — aside, housekeeping, personal
… and when it does, blogging takes a backseat.
I haven’t stopped; I’m just otherwise engaged.
I’ll be back.
