On the matter of the Danish cartoons, it has been my opinion that the only thing that will work is inoculation. Fundamentalist Muslims living in Western societies need to get used to the idea that no matter how offensive and vulgar they may find our “culture”, they have to tolerate it, tune it out, or create their own alternative.

Now comes a provocative test cast: a “Muslim Madonna” makes and releases a video in which she takes off her burka to reveal her bikini-clad body beneath it. Seems to me this is much more shocking than some cartoons of Mohammed. Not to mention much closer to one of the things that the intra-Islam war is really about: the subjugation of women.
